Athletes represent Wyneken Memorial Lutheran School through their example, conduct, and attitude both in the classroom and on the field. Our participants in grades 4-8 are expected to maintain good academic standing and regular weekly church attendance. If a participant carries two or more grades at or below a D at any two-week academic checkpoint, or receives an F on a quarter report card, that participant will be placed on academic probation. During probation, a player may practice with the team but will not be allowed to participate in any interschool contests until grades improve or the next grading checkpoint is reached. Students on probation have a two-week window to submit evidence of improved grades to regain immediate eligibility. Additionally, failure to attend church on a Sunday forfeits that athlete's right to participate in any scheduled contests for that Sunday. Poor church attendance (less than 50% during a grading period) requires pastoral consent for continued participation. The probation begins the day grades are evaluated, and athletes must demonstrate both academic progress and faithful church attendance to maintain their eligibility throughout the season.
