Olson is the Pre-kindergarten teacher, having started this role at the
start of the 2003-2004 school year.Mrs. Olson has lived in Decatur since 1990, when her husband, Pastor Thomas Olson, was Called as Pastor of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church (Bingen), a member parish of the Wyneken Association. She grew up as part of an Air Force family, and lived in many different places as a child. After attending Brenham High School in Texas for 3 years, she graduated from Kubasaki High School (Department of Defense) on Okinawa. Her teacher training took place at both Concordia University in Austin, Texas and Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Her favorite sports team is the Dallas Cowboys and she is a tennis fan (especially of Chris Evert and Pete Sampras). Her hobbies include flower gardening, reading, sewing, tennis, swimming, and cooking. The Olsons have three children: Bethany, Jon, and Katie. Her favorite hymn is Salvation Unto Us Has Come. |
