 About the teacher: Mrs. Mickey Martin has
been at Wyneken since 1995. That year her husband, Keith, took a call as Principal of our
neighboring school, St. Peter-Immanuel in Decatur. For the first two years, she served as
our 6th grade teacher. She has been 3rd grade teacher since 1997.
Mrs. Martin was born in Chicago, Illinois. This is reflected in her favorite sports teams:
"Da Bulls", "Da Bears", the White Sox, and of course, her beloved Valparaiso University
Crusaders. She attended Lutheran schools there, and also taught at Hope Lutheran School in
Chicago.
She lists her hobbies as collecting Christmas and Precious Moments ornaments, eating (as
any good Chicagoan would!), watching television. She and her husband Keith attended
Valparaiso University in (where else) Valparaiso, Indiana. 
The Martins reside in Decatur with
their twin daughters, Megan and Molly. Her favorite hymn is I Know That My Redeemer Lives.
