November Chapel Offerings –
The 1st & 5th
grades, together as prayer partners, are asking for your
assistance in helping needy families in the area through Lutheran
Social Services. We have been given four families to sponsor this
year. A complete list of needed items and sizes for these families
has been sent home in a separate note and has been published in
the November church newsletters. You may bring your items into
school at any time. Drop off carts are located throughout the
school for your items. Thank you for your generosity.
Congratulations to Marilyn Melcher, 4th grade, who won the “Best Grandparents Essay Contest” sponsored by the Callithumpian Festival Committee. Marilyn and her grandparents rode in the Callithumpian Parade. Marilyn received a $50 savings bond.
Wyneken Wear Sale – Show your school pride and save extra bucks at our Fall Wyneken Wear Sale. We have several extra clothing items and knit hats to sell. An athletic booster member will be in the school lobby today and Thursday and every Wednesday and Friday thereafter until our rack is empty! We have knit hats, T-shirts, long sleeve T’s, crew sweatshirts, sweat pants and a hooded sweatshirt for sale at a discounted price.
Gym Shoe Swap – Parents, have you considered what to do with the “Gently Used” gym shoes or other athletic shoes (soccer cleats, wrestling shoes) your child outgrows during the school year? The one’s you purchased for your child to wear for gym or athletic use only. If you would be interested in passing them along to another family and/or exchanging your pair for another pair, there is a “Shoe Book” located in the school office for you to fill out your shoe information – your name, phone number, and shoe information on an index card. This option is open and available to all our Wyneken families. If interested and wanting more information, call the school office or Missy Hockemeyer at 547-4428.

St. Jude’s Math-a-Thon – Wyneken is participating in the St. Jude Math-a-thon again this year. Students, who participated in the event, complete a Fun Book which contains many different math problems at their grade level. The students then collect pledges from friends, family, etc. The money raised is given to St. Jude’s to continue their research on finding cures for childhood cancers.
